Abstract:^
The overall mission of the symposium is to bring together pioneer work in the overlap of arts, humanities, network research, data science, and information design. The 2013 symposium will leverage interaction between those areas by means of keynotes, a number of contributions, and a high-profile panel discussion.
In our call, we are looking for a diversity of research contributions revolving around networks in culture, networks in art, networks in the humanities, art about networks, and research in network visualization. Focussing on these five pillars that have crystallized out of our previous meetings, the 2013 symposium strives to make further impact in the arts, humanities, and natural sciences.
Running parallel to the NetSci2013 conference, the symposium provides a unique opportunity to mingle with leading researchers in complex network science, potentially sparking fruitful collaborations.
As in previous years, selected papers will be published in print, both in a Special Section of Leonardo Journal MIT-Press and in a dedicated Leonardo eBook MIT-Press (see below).

Attendance to our symposium is free of charge. As space is limited, we require registration throughhttp://ahcn2013.eventbrite.com/. Registration is free and will be given out in a first come, first serve basis.
Note: If you do not get a ticket, there is still a chance to attend, as some ticket holders may not be able to show up. We will fill these spaces in Copenhagen, again on a first come, first serve basis. Priority will be given to those on our Eventbrite wait list and those registered for the main NetSci conference.

The AHCN2013
EasyChair submission system is now closed. Our Call for Papers had a new record response with 55 submissions and an acceptance rate of 14.5%. Contributors were selected using a peer review process with three to four independent reviews per paper. Selected submissions included an abstract not exceeding 300 words, a striking figure, as well as a relevant URL. Covering a large territory the selected paper topics include networks in art, film, music, literature, network visualization, and the culture of art-science.

Notifications of acceptance will be sent out by April 8, 2013.
Date of symposium: Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in Copenhagen at DTU – Technical University of Denmark.
About NetSci:^ The International Conference on Network Science 2013, NetSci2013, in Copenhagen, Denmark, from June 3 to 7, 2013 focuses on interdisciplinary research on networks from various disciplines such as economy, biology, medicine, or sociology, and aims to bring new network analytic methods from physics, computer science, math, or statistics to the attention of a large and diverse audience.
